Al Tianguis
For the 13th edition of Al Tianguis—CENTRO’s biannual student market—Natalia Villalobos served as creative director and head designer, leading the development of the visual identity and contributing to the curation of selected projects.
The campaign, created in collaboration with Jorge Pérez Nuñez, spanned both print and digital media to promote the event, launch the open call, showcase participating projects, and share reminders. At the heart of this edition was an effort to approach the concept of the tianguis as closely and honestly as possible—returning to its essence as a vibrant, communal, and distinctly Mexican marketplace.
The visual system drew inspiration from aerial views of market tarps in Mexico City’s largest tianguis, reinterpreted through typographic compositions and grid-based layouts. The color palette referenced traditional signage found in public markets, resulting in an identity that feels both bold and culturally grounded.
